Step by Step

Step by step, I have begun to explore Austin! My roommate and I discovered the Shoal Creek trail last weekend, the perfect path to run and walk by our apartment.  I love being outdoors during the summer and the trail by the creek is perfect for a relaxing walk. Why not take advantage of the beautiful summer weather? Not to mention, the path has a good amount of shade, so the Austin heat isn’t too unbearable. Check out a map of the trail here and try something new for a change if you have yet to venture out to Shoal Creek!

Coral and Turquoise

Get the look: 1/2/3/4/5/6/7

Coral and turquoise is probably my favorite color combination for summer. I fell in love with these Splendid ‘Wishful’ Platform Sandals when I saw them at Nordstrom the other day, so I wanted to feature them in an outfit. The “Behind the Scenes Shorts” in coral from DejaVu are perfect for the shoes, creating the flawless coral and turquoise color combination.

My Summer Bucket List

Thinking about what to do this summer? I decided that I want to make the most of my free time this summer, so I made a list of some of the things that I want to do. First things first, I want to explore Austin, try new restaurants and trailers, and go to all of the talked about places that I have yet to check out.

Next, I plan on tackling some of my pins on Pinterest. I am dying to try this DIY Braided Necklace and paint something relatively easy for decor like this Chevron Shoe Box Art. I also decided that I have to try out the Nutella Mug Cake that keeps popping up everywhere, along with this delicious looking Guacamole Grilled Cheese.

I have to go to the Farmer’s Market this summer as I have been meaning to check it out for a while now. Finally, I am making a resolution to go to the lake to go kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing, etc. So there you have it, a summer full of nothing but fun.

What’s on your summer to-do list?

“Le Cirque des Rêves”

I just finished reading The Night Circus and highly recommend it! This book is a must-read blend of romance, mystery, and fantasy that tests your imagination and keeps you guessing through each chapter. The Night Circus is truly one of the best books that I have read in a while. I didn’t want this book to end and I think that after reading The Night Circus, you will find yourself not wanting to let go of Le Cirque des Rêves.

“There are many kinds of magic, after all” -The Night Circus, p. 381

“The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.”

For those of you who have already read The Night Circus… I think I’m going to have to invest in a red scarf.
